Why Is Apple Called “Apple”?

There are numerous savage theories about the origin of the name Apple. The name comes from Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak selected the name to display at the top of Atari in the phone book. Making it applause for the Beatles’ Apple Records.

Instead of the exciting savage stories, the truth is evident. According to Walter Isaacson’s life story of Steve Jobs, Jobs put this name because he liked apples. As Isaacson Jobs had said, “it sounded fun, spirited and not intimidating...plus, it would get us ahead of Atari in the phone book.”

So there seems to be a lot of truth to this theory about the birth of Apple’s name.

Steve Wozniak the co-founder of Apple declared that Jobs had returned from a farm in Oregon, reported by Jobs as an “apple orchard,” so that he put the name the company Apple Computer. Wozniak additionally explained in his autobiography, iWoz, that both of them thought about having a technical name, but they could not do it so they set the name as Apple.
