Elevoc Clear: ANC + ENC AI Noise Cancellation Earbuds
Over the last ten years, wireless earphones have grown
substantially. The era of tinny sound, poor fit, and basic technologies that
merely couldn't deliver the desired sound quality is over. The improvements in noise cancellation and rechargeable batteries have built up a huge rush of earbuds that are available in all price ranges. This ordinary competition
has made the manufacturers work hard to reach their earbuds to people. At present
we see numerous brands offering earbuds with beneficial features, magnificent
battery life, and the best comfort.
Let's consider Elevoc as an example. They are a new company
that releases new products. Declared as a “leading AI-powered audio solution provider on
a mission to help people communicate with the world”.
First Look
The Elevoc Clear comes in a tight box with a multitude of
attachments included. When opening the box we were surprised to see an
instruction manual, a larger cable, 12 ear tips, and a charging case with the
earbuds. The only things missed were a pouch or a carrying case. A charging
case is a safe place for earbuds when they are not using it. When keeping the
batteries off and ready to use. The case is very secure it's about 2.5″ wide x 1.75″tall
x 1″ deep and maintains a flip-top lid that
attractively closes shut. It is really suitable for maximum portability. It
fits best in the palm of your hand.
The earbuds are coming with a secured charging case, ready at
once to pair when removing them. But first, you have to take some time to ensure you have installed the
correct ear tips. With 6 different pairs, better to find the tips that give a
smug fit, and one without the pressure points. After doing this the earbuds
will fit tightly to avoid background sound. With the earbuds in your ears,
you will be able to shake your head and jump up and down without losing them.
Pairing
As the Elevoc Clear earbuds are wireless, they need a Bluetooth connection to send the audio. It means that you have to pair it with
a Bluetooth-activated device to use them. The earbuds automatically move into
pairing mode when they are removed from the charging case. When removing them
look for the connection in the smartphone, tablet, or any device that you need to
pair with. There will be “Elevoc Clear” as a near connection to pair with.
If you are unable to pair them, or if you need to pair them with
a new device, keep back the earbuds in the charging case close the lid, and
press and keep holding the charging port for 5 seconds. This makes them ready
to re-pair with near devices. The light on the left and the other two on the right side flashes usually before
realizing the light for 3 seconds. This shows that earbuds are under Bluetooth
searching and pairing mode.
We thought the pairing process was quite simple. That's
exactly what we like: a simple connection process without the fuss you might be
used to with other earbuds. In fact, every time we used the earphones with a
new smartphone, they were paired properly in about 15 seconds.
Phone Call Sound Quality
Possibly, sound quality is a very important thing when
taking a brand-new wireless earbud. It seems that Elevoc gives extra time and
attempts to make sure that clear earbuds give the relevant sound for their price. Usage of six separate
microphones, they are able to instinctively remove the background noise for all phone calls and music.
The linked microphones functions in connecting with the two
voice transducers and a “Vocplus”
algorithm. They reduce the background noise and interruptions that have to face.
This makes the most suitable listening
surrounding for you to have phone calls in noisy, busy, or interrupting environments. In turn, the voice is emphasized and makes the call more quality as
clear humans
We checked some phone calls in various environments.
According to the results we gained from various earbuds, the Elevoc Clear was the best at avoiding background noise. We tested a phone call
on a bus ride while traveling, in a coffee shop, and also during a baseball
match. It is happy that we found the environment noise canceling works better
as the Elevoc says. On the other side
of the phone calls, users talk about near silence with clear sound
transmission. In the end, it seems that
Elevoc delivered the promise on their clear and noiseless phone calls.
Music Sound Quality
We were happy to see that Elevoc Clear is not for only
phone calls, but for the fascinating sound of music. Made with Active Noice
cancellation, the Elevoc clear uses integrated microphones to
automatically silence any noise. The dynamic drivers are used
by the earbuds to avoid reversing sound waves. In other words, it collects the
background noise and gives the opposite sound waves. Before everything ANC
feature is working at its best.
You can move to various sound modes by pressing and holding the
left or right earbud for 2 seconds. The ANC, ambient, and default. It is good to keep the ANC mode activated as
it gives the best sound quality for music. Ambient suits for the ones who need
to use play music and still hear the surround sound near you. The default mode
sounds ok and it is the standard mode, but not good as ANC is activated. As we
think ANC is the best mode that you can get.
Additionally to ANC. The Elevoc Clear has got a significant 10mm driver inside the earbuds. They are dynamic means they deliver the best
listening experience. Actually, the frequencies are uniquely tuned to give properly balanced highs mids, and lows. Even the low end has got a good “thump”
and “bass”. The earbuds are small, but they give the sound with well-balanced
tones.
Battery Life
Battery life is so
important for those who use earbuds. As said earlier Elevoc Clear has got a
charging case. So don’t worry that the earbuds are always topped off and ready
to listen. This charging case has got a 600 mAh battery capacity. It gives
25-30 hours of battery life before charging up the case by plugging in a USB-C
cable.
Anyhow as each earbud is made with a 45mAh battery, you are
unable to expect 25-30 hours of battery life for each earbud. When
ANC is turned on, there will be around 5 hours of listening. When ANC is off
you may get extra hours(6 hours total) per earbud.
Each earbud needs about 90 minutes to "top-off" to
get fully charged. If the battery in the
case is completely dead, it should take around 2 hours to fully recharge.
The battery life was about average in our opinion. On a single
charge, some earbuds last up to 50 hours, while others only last 12 to 18
hours. However, Elevoc's estimations for the battery life appeared to be accurate.
It took almost precisely the same amount of time each time we charged the
earbuds. We have reason to be happy about that.
Durability
The Elevoc Clear wireless earbuds have a sturdy build and
are constructed to very high standards. They are strong, small, and well-built;
they don't feel cheap or tacky at all. We also value the matte finish because
it doesn't appear to draw dirt or fingerprints.
The Elevoc Clear's IP54 rating for water and dust protection
is the cherry on top. The "5" indicates that they are only moderately
resistant to dust and grime when used normally. However, if you put them
through their paces, they wouldn't be highly resistant to the entry of dust or
dirt. The "4" designates that they are somewhat waterproof but
protected from water splashes from all directions.
Simply defined, they are water resistant against sweat,
moisture, and rain and not completely waterproof. The performance and lifetime
of the earphones will be negatively affected by high-pressure water or complete
submersion in water. In other words, you can go outside with them in the rain
and snow but you shouldn't swim with them on. Although a little greater durability
rating would have been ideal, they will still function just well in the
majority of situations.
You should bear in mind that while the charging case is
IP54-rated, the earbuds are not. It's crucial to maintain the case safe; avoid
exposing it to dampness or dirt since it probably won't work out well.
