How to disable Smart Replies in the New Gmail
The latest “Smart Reply ” feature in Gmail is advantageous,
but it could overrun privacy. We have brought you how to disable smart
replies in Gmail if you don’t need them.
As an example, if you receive an invitation to a birthday
party, the auto responses will say like “I will be there”, “Sorry I cannot make
it”, or “Thanks I will reply to you soon.”
If you are under a continuous storm of email requests, the accessibility
of one tap reply is very useful. Anyhow, if you are not satisfied with Google
scanning of the words you receive in the emails, you can turn on or off that
feature. Luckily it is a very easy task.
How to disable Smart Replies in Gmail
Follow the below steps to disable the smart replies in
Gmail.
- Go to the Gmail app
- Click the three horizontal lines located in the upper right-hand corner.
- Click Settings
- Select the email account that you need to disable smart replies
- Scroll to General > Smart reply.
- Unmark the box near the Show suggested replies when available.
- Repeat the above methods for the email accounts you need to apply.
Note that if you disable the auto replies to stop Google from filling the inbox, it will not function
as you need.
Google always scans the inbox for spam, phishing attacks,
and viruses. The scans do not read the word of the email by word as the smart reply
algorithm does.
